" I help the owner(s) make
more money with less stress" |
 |
Home I work
with companies and sole traders in the building and maintenance area. Typical
clients are painting and decorating companies, building firms, joinery shops,
and other businesses of this type. I can also help plumbers, electricians,
flooring contractors, and so on.
In summary, I help the owner(s) make
more money with less stress.
First off - a few questions: do you
answer "yes" to any of the following?
- Is the business going generally OK, but
there are one or two problem areas?
- Are you short of work?
- Are customers becoming unreasonable?
- Do good workers keep leaving?
- Is your estimation method
unreliable?
- Do you lose track of extras
- Do workers or subcontractors often let you
down?
- Is your business not making enough money for
the effort you are putting in?
- Does the book keeping or book keeper drive
you crazy?
- Do you want the Inland Revenue to go xxxxx
themselves?
- Is the stress getting worse?
- Would you like to "get rid of" the financial
side and just concentrate on getting the real work done?
- Is your business apparently doing well, but
you never actually get any money out?
- Do people working for you make more than you
do?
- Is your business struggling?
- Are people chasing you for money all the
time?
- Have you had County Court judgments against
you or your business?
- Have you already gone bankrupt and you are
worried the same thing - or insolvency - is going to happen again?
Frankly, any business owner is going to
answer "yes" to at least some of those questions at some time.
I
have made it my business to understand what are the important elements of
making a business work and as a result I can help resolve the sort of
difficulties referred to above.
Running any business (not just in the
building field) is a process of striving for improvement.
My aim
is to help to business owners in the construction/maintenance industry to run
their businesses better - more profitably, more stably and with less stress.
How is it done? Well, that depends on the individual
situation...
Here are some examples and what sort of things would be
done in each case.
- Example
A: A Plumber, working as a sole tradesman. He is doing
quite well but wants to make more money
- Example B:
A Small Building Firm that is busy but making no
money
- Example
C: A Decorating Firm, owner was bankrupt some years ago
and debts are rising again
- Example
D: A Joinery Shop which is doing well, but they need a
book keeping system
